The annual Heikki Lunta (Hey-Key Loon-ta) Winterfest, held on and around Negaunee's Teal Lake, is a festival of winter fun. Heikki Lunta is a legendary Finnish snow god who is said to have the ability to perform a dance causing snowfall.
Bonfires will be held on the shores of Teal Lake at 5:00 p.m. on Saturday, January 19, 2013.
The Eagles Breakfast Buffet will take place from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. on Sunday, January 20, 2013 at the Negaunee Clubhouse. Cost is $6 for adults, $5 for seniors and $4 for children age 10 and younger. Call 475-9584 for details.
